Coloradoans need to savor the fall snow’s newness before the winter doldrums arrive in January and February. According to the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office (NOAA), Denver’s average first snow is on October 15th, which means that snow will likely arrive in Denver during the next few weeks! Many of our relocating clients, especially those from California, are often concerned about Denver’s snowfall. How much snow does Denver really receive each year? With the exception of last winter (2006-2007), Denver, Colorado, has relatively mild winters. According to the NOAA, Denver’s Snowfall Average (1882-2006) is 57.4 inches. This number varies significantly since Denver had a whopping 72.6 inches of snow last winter yet only 30.4 inches during the prior winter of 2005-2006.
