Denver Area Tornadoes Welcome the DNC
Well, Denver residents were expecting a whirlwind during the DNC! Three tornadoes touched down southeast of Denver yesterday, on the eve of the DNC. One of the tornadoes, which touched down near the Rueter-Hess Reservoir in Parker, was about a mile from my house. The tornado spotting gave my family quite a scare! Two more tornadoes also touched down in Douglas County near Castle Rock and Parker yesterday evening. While this wild weather grabbed the national headlines last night and this morning, tornadoes are not a common occurrence in the Denver metro area. They are actually very rare. I have lived in the Denver area almost my whole life, and this is the first tornado that I’ve ever seen. Who knows what other wild and crazy things the DNC will bring to Denver this week!
