September 10th, 2008 Team Cox Posted in Coming Soon to a Neighborhood Near You... 2 Comments »

IKEA coming to Centennial, ColoradoGood news! IKEA announced today that it plans to build its first Colorado store in Centennial! The new store will be located between County Line Road and Dry Creek Road. The Denver Post reports that the new IKEA, which is slated to be more than 400,000 sq. ft. spread out on two different levels, will bring approximately 400 jobs to the South Denver area.

For those of you who don’t know of IKEA, it is not your everyday furniture store, but an international phenomenon. The successful Swedish company sells sleek and stylish home furnishings at very competitive prices. One common complaint about IKEA is that many of its products need to be assembled, but you’ll likely let that one slide once you see all of IKEA’s unique offerings!

TeamCox Realtors will let you know when IKEA announces the opening date for the new Centennial store.

The Streets at SouthGlenn will be a major asset to the City of Centennial

Streets of SouthGlenn in Centennial to Open in Spring 2009The Streets at SouthGlenn is an upscale redevelopment project currently under construction on the site of the former Southglenn Mall, which opened in 1974. Three decades later, this exciting new development will completely revitalize its surrounding Centennial neighborhoods. The mixed-use project, slated for a Spring 2009 opening, is located in the heart of Arapahoe County near the intersection of Arapahoe Road and University Blvd.

Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Staples and a Macy’s Home Store, will be among the first stores to open at the Streets at SouthGlenn next year. A highly anticipated new Whole Foods store is also under construction. Plans for the project don’t end with shopping, though. According to the City of Centennial’s website, the project will ultimately feature a park, fountains, festivals, community events, and concerts.

The Centennial real estate market will be invigorated by this exciting new development. The neighborhoods surrounding The Streets at SouthGlenn will greatly benefit from the added tax revenue and heightened profile. You should also be on the lookout for new residential projects, including Alberta Development Partners’ (the developer of The Streets at SouthGlenn) 200 for-rent luxurious apartment homes, and The Portola, which will consist of both retail space and residential space.

As longtime residents of Centennial, we couldn’t be more excited about The Streets of SouthGlenn. For more information on Centennial real estate, please contact TeamCox Realtors at 303-400-6060. Happy Shopping!

Rueter-Hess Reservoir Brightens Parker’s Already Vivid Future

May 13th, 2008 Kinetic Knowledge Posted in Coming Soon to a Neighborhood Near You..., Douglas County, Uncategorized 1 Comment »

Rueter-Hess Reservoir will add to Parker's recreational opportunities while boasting its water supply

Rueter-Hess Reservoir TeamCox Realtors often recommends Parker, Colorado, to our homebuyers since the southern Denver suburb appeals to almost everyone – first time buyers to young families to empty nesters. The charming town and its surrounding neighborhoods offer a unique blend of small-town charm blended with the conveniences of being near a large city.

Yesterday’s Denver Post featured an article about the future Rueter-Hess Reservoir, slated to be 50 percent larger than the Cherry Creek Reservoir, which is under construction near Parker. This reservoir brightens Parker’s already vivid future, since it will add to the area’s existing charm and recreational opportunities, while boasting its water supply. Planning for the reservoir began in 1985, as the Parker Water and Sanitation District sought to improve its long-term water supply.

Projected to be completed in 2011, the  Rueter-Hess Reservoir will provide water to the Town of Parker, in addition to surrounding Douglas County areas, including Stonegate, Castle Pines North and Castle Rock. While the recreation plans for the reservoir haven’t been finalized, there are plans to include fishing and non-motorized boating, including canoes and rowboats. In addition, approximately 2,000 acres of land will be set aside for wildlife, hiking, and biking trails.

Are you thinking about moving to the Parker area? TeamCox Realtors has extensive knowledge of the Parker real estate market, so please free to contact us at 303-400-6060.
